Obdachlos und dann noch krank oder verletzt und ohne Krankenversicherung auf der Straße...

Hier hilft ganzjährig die Straßenambulanz der Berliner Stadtmission.

Mehrfach die Woche sucht ein Team aus Ärztinnen, Ärzten, medizinischem Personal und weiteren Assistenten (meist aus dem Team der Kältebusse) diese Menschen auf und versorgt sie auf der Straße. Heilen können wir nicht, aber das Leiden lindern. Wir wechseln Verbände, versorgen Wunden und motivieren die Menschen, andere Hilfsangebote aufzusuchen.

Daneben gibt es auch hier Heißgetränke, warme Suppen, Ersatz-Kleidung, Wäsche und Hygiene-Artikel.

Auch wenn wir alle ehrenamtlich tätig sind, kostet die Arbeit viel Geld. Das Fahrzeug muss unterhalten werden, medizinischer und anderer Bedarf gekauft werden usw.

Unser Co-Geschäftsführer gehört zum Team der Straßenambulanz, fährt mehrfach im Monat den Bus und garantiert, dass jeder Cent eurer Spende direkt bei den Menschen auf der Straße ankommt.

Übrigens: Hitze ist für obdachlose Menschen fast noch gefährlicher als Kälte, denn vor Hitze kann der Mensch sich weniger schützen, als vor Kälte. Deshalb könnt ihr am Kiosk auch eine Wasserspende kaufen und wir bringen diese Erfrischung zu den Menschen.

Street Clinic for Homeless People

Homeless, sick, or injured—and without health insurance—on the streets...

The Berlin City Mission’s Street Clinic provides help year-round.

Several times a week, a team of doctors, medical staff, and other assistants (mostly from the Kältebus-Team) visits these people and treats them on the street. We can’t cure them, but we can alleviate their suffering. We change bandages, treat wounds, and encourage people to seek out other sources of help.

In addition, we provide hot drinks, warm soups, spare clothing, laundry, and hygiene items.

Even though we’re all volunteers, the work costs a lot of money. The vehicle needs to be maintained, medical and other supplies need to be purchased, and so on.

You can support our work with a donation. Donation vouchers are available online when purchasing tickets, in our web shop, and at the ticket counter.

Our co-director is part of the street clinic team, drives the bus several times a month, and ensures that every cent of your donation goes directly to the people on the street.

By the way: Heat is almost more dangerous for homeless people than cold, because people can protect themselves less from heat than from cold. That’s why you can also buy a water donation at the kiosk, and we’ll bring this refreshment to the people.
